Whole Bunch of Stasiaks

May 30, 2021

Mikey and Amelie’s wedding was one of the most intimate weddings that I’ve had the pleasure to attend. They found a little venue to say “I do” tucked away on a dirt road in Yucca Valley off Highway 62 and 247. With about 60 people in attendance, it was quaint and styled in the bohemian vibe that only they could pull off so effortlessly.

Rather than talk about the entire night in depth, I’ll list off some great moments and memories.

  • Hitting my face on the Joshua Tree cluster that was hanging in the middle of the aisle within 5 minutes of getting there.
  • Watching all the groomsmen duck under said Joshua Tree cluster during the wedding ceremony.
  • Mikey and Amelie kissing as soon as they got to the altar, only to be cut off by the officiant.
  • The officiant making Long Beach references and being generally great only to find out he was some random dude hired off of Yelp and not a personal friend of the party.
  • Mikey and Amelie’s make out sesh once the ceremony concluded.
  • Catching up with Taylor, an old friend from my elementary days.
  • Checking out Taylor’s van with Cory. (Check the vanity license plate in the photo)
  • Both Mikey and Amelie looking fucking amazing.
  • The incredibly spicy serrano pepper cocktail that I couldn’t handle.
  • Hanging out with my beautiful wife.
  • Watching Cory cry during the Mother/Son dance.
  • An epic first dance where I got some of my favorite photos.
  • Seeing Ian get sloshed and transform into Jake.
  • Watching Jake get wild on the dance floor and dance with Mikey’s mom.
  • Watching Mikey’s aunt’s checking out Jake’s moves.
  • Being stoked that there were 3 pregnant women at the wedding, which means that Logan is going to have more friends in the near future.
  • Bullshitting with Cory and Ian.

I’m so fortunate.

Buds.
The officiant definitely had Hannibal Buress vibes. I couldn’t tell if his outfit was ballin’ on a budget or high fashion. I was just happy he was willing to do this Jesus arms pose for me for no reason at all. He just went with it.
Soon-to-be Stasiak.
Obligatory wide shot down the aisle.
Off into the desert.
Two Stasiaks.
DUDEVAN
Happiest man on the planet. Eternally stoked.
Go see Cal. Go see Cal. Go see Cal.
(If you read this in Snoop Dogg’s voice, you get bonus cool points.)
Babe.
The boys and 1.5 Stasiaks.
Desert View before sunset.
If the baby takes a nap, I take a nap too.
The crew minus me.
My fav photo of the whole day.
Mom Stasiak gets her dance.
“I’m not crying.” – Cory after watching the mother/son dance.
Getting pulled into her tractor beam.
Giving in and just going with it.
Fully embracing the moment.
Jake does not give a fuck what you think.

Friendsgiving 2017

December 2, 2017

When you start dating someone long enough, eventually you’ll meet their group of friends. Since Caitlyn introduced me to her close circle I’ve never looked back. Every year Brett and Laura host a Friendsgiving as a way to get together and enjoy the holidays. Since I’ve been going, things have changed quite a bit. Of […]

3 Nieces and a Nephew

October 30, 2017

After getting married, I inherited 3 nieces and a nephew. I really like hanging out with them and it’s been far too long. 9 months is a long time to not see kids. It’s crazy to watch how fast kids grow up.

I Was Wrong About Hawai’i

March 1, 2020

The last time I went to Hawai’i, I was maybe 17 or 18 years old. My brother and I went to visit our cousin Andrew who was studying at University of Hawai’i. I don’t really remember much about that trip except a visit to Costco for some alcohol that did not go our way. Andrew […]
