Flâneur is French for a person who lounges or who is idle. One who strolls or wanders. Applied to photography, it becomes a very loose definition for what most people call street photography. By definition street photography only takes place in the street whereas flâneur photography applies in all aspects of life.
Simply put, it is whatever moments and places that I find interesting enough to photograph. When I’m out and about, I like to snap little moments that occur for just a split second. A perfect frame lines up in my mind and boom, the shutter clicks.
An interesting shadow, a juxtaposition of urban and natural elements or a person having a private moment in a public place. What we do and what we create defines us as people. I intend to explore that definition with my camera.
I also enjoy traveling quite a bit. Caitlyn and I try to leave the country a couple times a year, even if it’s just to Mexico for a quick Trip.
